Ipswich has one of the most diverse ranges of natural vegetation types in South East Queensland. It is home to a large number of native flora and fauna and over 2,000 recorded species of native plants and animals.
To protect and enhance Ipswich’s environment and its liveability, the Ipswich City Council has collaborated with the community, industry and other levels of government to develop a Sustainability Strategy.
Tomra
Located at Ipswich: 355 Brisbane Street, the Tomra state of the art Recycling Centre is the local hub for returning eligible drink containers and receiving a refund. The Recycling Centre is designed to handle returns of all sizes in a convenient and efficient way open 7 days a week. Recycling eligible drink containers, including plastic bottles, aluminium cans, tetra packs, and glass bottles.
